It is times like this that I know I need to permanently attach my camera to my hand at all times so I don’t miss out on photographing these moments.
I arrived in Ho Chi Minh (Saigon) the night before and I decided to go explore the next morning with no plan. Within an hour I stumbled upon the most incredible site to photograph. The entire city was getting ready for the Lunar New Year celebration which is officially called Tết Nguyên Đán (or Tết for short).
This was from the weekend before the whole thing kicked off. I feel extremely lucky I was in the right place at the right time. The insanely vibrant colors, the non-stop selfies happening around me, and complete chaos sucked me in instantly.
I lose track of time and sometimes lose whoever I’m with (that’s not always the fun part though haha) when I find something beautiful to photograph. I can transport myself into a world that I don’t really come out of for hours and hours… well, unless I get hungry or there’s wine somewhere near 🙂 .
This day was something that inspired more than just a photo diary – but some BIG, exciting changes here on the blog.
I started my exploration at Ho Chi Minh Book Street – highly recommend exploring here.
This was by far my favorite photo of the day.
